Easter tournament for recreational players

It’s time for the annual Duinwijck Easter tournament for recreational players! Sign up, together with your buddy, for an evening full of easter eggs and fun games at your playing level.

Now that there are also a number of parabadminton players among our recreational members, we cordially invite them to add an extra dimension to the game. The Easter tournament will take place on Wednesday evening, March 27 from 7 p.m. You can register until March 23.

How does the Easter Tournament work?

  1. In the Easter tournament you play the entire tournament with the same partner. This may also be a non-Duinwijck member, but it must be a recreational player.
  2. You can register for one category: women’s, men’s or mixed doubles.
  3. You play in groups at your own level, which you fill in on the registration form: moderately strong recreationalist, medium-strong recreationalist or strong recreationalist.
  4. If you and your partner are of different levels, you play at the level of the strongest player.
  5. If you don’t have a partner, don’t panic, enter ‘wanted’ on your registration form next to the name of player 2, and we will pair you with someone of your own level who also does not have a partner.
  6. The recreational committee has the right to refuse certain teams if we consider them too strong. If this applies to you, you will be told in time, so that you still have time to register again with another partner.
  7. If you play with or against a parabadminton player, adjusted rules will apply for this match. These rules will be explained by the recreational committee and the player in question prior to the match. The starting point is: normal what can be done normally, adjusted what needs to be adjusted.
  8. Games are played on time. A match lasts approximately 10 minutes. The points continue to be counted as long as time runs. The match ends when the bell rings. A draw (e.g. 33-33) is also possible.
  9. In principle, we play with feather shuttles, which are made available by the recreational committee. If the majority in your group wants to play with nylon shuttles, that is also allowed.
  10. After the group matches there is a short break so that the recreational committee can draw up the competition schedules for the final rounds. The matches in these final rounds also last approximately 10 minutes. If there is a tie when the bell rings, the deciding point will be played.
