The 43rd edition of the YONEX Dutch Junior International will take place in the DEGIRO hall from February 26 to March 2, 2025. We can proudly say that this is the number 1 tournament in the world for the world’s top badminton under 19 years old. The tournament runs entirely on volunteers and that’s why we’re looking for you!

Do you want to be part of a very fun team that voluntarily organizes a world-class tournament together? Then register now! We traditionally end the tournament with a dinner in the hall for all volunteers as a thank you.

Positions

We are looking for volunteers for all kinds of positions. Click on the plus sign for a short description. In the registration form you can indicate what you are interested in (and what not) and when you are available.

In the days before the tournament, the construction team ensures that the DEGIRO-hall is ready for the tournament. You will help, among other things, to set up the relaxation area for the players and to prepare the space next to the stands for our food corner and Yonex stand. You hang up signage and flags or help with the attractive decoration of the hall. On Sunday evening, the finishing team ensures that the DEGIRO hall looks again as if a tournament never took place.

In this function you are the first contact for the teams on site once they have landed at Schiphol Airport. You collect the teams in the arrival hall, then you guide them to the place where the transport vans are ready for smooth transport to the hotels. There is only a contact person at Schiphol in the days leading up to the tournament. Speaking good English is necessary for this function.

Before, during and after the tournament, the drivers provide transport for the players, coaches and tournament staff between the airport or station, the hotels, the training locations and the DEGIRO-hall. You drive in vans rented by us that can be driven with a driving license B valid in the Netherlands.

As a speaker, you sit in the hall during the matches and call the players when it is their turn to play. There will be a note waiting for you that will tell you exactly what to say.

Once the speaker has called them, the players will report to you at the match table to receive the score sheet, shuttles and bottles of water. In addition, you ensure that the tournament management is sufficiently supplied with food and drinks and after the match you put the shuttles still to be used back into tubes for use by Duinwijck.

You are part of Team Social Media and together you ensure that the tournament also comes to life on our social media. You create and post content during, but preferably before and after the tournament too. A flexible position in terms of availability, with plenty of room for personal input and creativity.

Both participants and the public can enjoy drinks and snacks at the bar. During the tournament there is a more extensive menu and you can be assigned alternately (with instructions of course) in the kitchen or behind the bar. You can indicate your preference for this in the registration form.

On match days, a physiotherapist is present to treat the players during or around the matches. As a physiotherapist you are qualified with the correct papers, or are in the final phase of your training.

As a transport & training coordinator, you arrange the transport of teams and tournament staff between the airport/station, hotels, training locations and DEGIRO-hall. You are the first point of contact for the drivers. You also process requests for training in the planning of the training location. You communicate by email, Whats App and telephone (via our email address and telephone number) and therefore have enough knowledge of the English language (and Google Translate) to be able to communicate with the team coaches and organize well.

Participants and coaches can order food through us and have their laundry done at affiliated parties. As a Food & laundry Service Coordinator, you take orders at the DEGIRO-hall and pass them on to the restaurants/laundry service by telephone. You also take care of the administration surrounding the laundry service so that everyone gets their own laundry back neatly and on time.

Every year we organize a VIP event for invited guests. For example, representatives of the municipality, sponsors and ambassadors of the participating countries have been invited. As a VIP event employee, you receive guests at the welcome desk and ensure that everyone is provided with snacks and drinks. You also help with the set-up and dismantling before and after.

You are part of the IT & Livestream team and are therefore jointly responsible for the technical facilities during the tournament (such as the live score) and the live streams on the Dutch Junior YouTube channel.
